HANDMADE FABRIC GIFTS AS INDIVIDUAL AS YOUR CHILD
Welcome to Handmade Hippo
The home of bespoke & sustainable children's products.
I believe that “good enough” isn’t enough for your child. In fact, as a Mum, I know that you need the best for your kids. That’s why I always try my absolute best to make my products as individual as your little one(s).
You probably don’t want or need any more mass-produced plastic clutter in your house, but that’s what a lot of children’s products seem to be these days. If you want something bespoke, ethically made and something your kids will treasure for years to come, look no further.

BESPOKE FABRIC GIFTS, HANDMADE BY ME
I’m Emma, I am the mum of two behind Handmade Hippo. I have always been obsessed with patterned fabric. As a Fine Art student specialising in repurposing vintage patterned textiles, I started making fabric gifts for friends who were expecting to welcome their new arrivals. Back then Handmade Hippo was only a sparkle in my eye, but then I became a parent myself.
It frustrated me that I couldn’t find ethically made products in a diverse range of prints. I wanted handmade childrens products that worked for our family but also wouldn’t be found on the high street. So I took it upon myself to do something about this lack of sustainable handmade children’s products, and started Handmade Hippo in 2016, making super absorbent patterned dribble bibs.
In 2019, after the birth of our youngest, I expanded my product range. It was time to turn my small business dreams into a long term reality that would allow me to support my family whilst still being there for those precious moments. Fast forward a few years and here we are. A little business providing a community of mums with handmade sustainable children’s products:
